Description
The Landskron Brau-Manufaktur Görlitz was founded in 1869. It is one of the oldest producing industrial monuments in Germany. At Landskron, since 1869 all beers are brewed using traditional fermentation vats according to the traditional brewing tradition and are allowed to mature for a particularly long time in 12-meter-deep vaulted cellars. In contrast to industrial breweries with computer-controlled brewing systems, all beers at Landskron are managed by experienced master brewers by hand.

1 l bottle, thanks Mara & Arne! Fruity, light grassy nose. Cloudy orange-golden, offwhite lace. Robust body, mellow mouthfee, fruity base notes, good grassy, light flowery hops, dry finish, aromatic retronasal. Fairly moreish. Nice.

1l-bottle, looks good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts strong, intense malty, not too dry. Quite alcoholic without being too much. Light soapy notes. Bitter background. Finish more balanced, less alcoholic, fine spicy-malty aftertaste. A good one!

Minimal säuerlicher Antrunk mit malzigen hellen Noten. Die Säuerlichkeit steigt, alkoholisch, unrund. Wenig herb. Nicht Besonders und schon gärt nicht gut. 11/8/8/8/8/8

Deep golden with a small white head. A little bit dry, plums and alcohol, little carbonation, medium sweetness. Medium body, I expected a little bit more heaviness.

50cl bottle thanks to Onkelgobber. Pours dark brown with a red/brown hue and a decent crema head. The nose is very farmyardy initially and then it goes into charcoal with just a hint of liquorice. The taste has a big dry liquorice note the whole way through - one-dimensional maybe but what a dimension! The palate is very well balanced - a medium body with a creamy texture and a nice clean finish. Overall, a great example of a schwarzbier style and I’m really surprised with the other ratings.

bottle with thanks to kappldav123! Clear golden colour, mid-sized white head. Malty aroma. Light-bodied with a nice malty character and a touch of fruit. Some bitter and aromatic hops in the finish. Mild but not without character.
