on tap at the Lodge. Slightly hazy very light yellow with a thin skin of a creany white head. Thin persistant lacing. Nice up front aroma of light pale malts and lots of banana. Flavor was banana bread and a bit of clove spice. Thin but very soft palate. Crsmy and smooth. Nice.

Bottle from John’s Market. Aromas of chocolate and dark toasted malts. Pretty opaque dark brown/black. Brown light through the glass edges. Frothy, somewhat lacing, tan head. Thin to medium bodied. Starts with chocolate, which develops with swishing. Which thins the ale. The finish begins with a light malty sweetness, replaced by toasted malts, accompanied by enough hop bitter to make this a really good, as opposed to average, experience. Chocolate returns in the end. A good one.

Draft at the Brewpub: Orange pour with a medium white head and good lacing. Nose is sweet with citrus and malt, some piney hops. The taste is more on the citrus hops side with light pine notes, caramel, and maltiness.

Draft at the Brewpub: Golden pour with a large white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of mild hops, citrus, and malt. Tastes of sweeter malt, caramel, and light hops. Crisp finish, yet weak on the hops.

Draft at the Brewpub: Poured a medium chestnut brown color with a smaller beige head. Light lacing. Nose is roasty and malty with light hops and hints of cocoa. Tastes of caramel, toasted malt, chocolate, and toffee. Light bitters. Pretty good brown ale.

Draft at the Brewpub: Poured a dark brown with a smaller beige head. Light lacing. Nose is heavy on the roasted malt with medium chocolate tones. The taste is consistent to the aroma with the addition of coffee/mocha notes and a bittersweetness. Decent porter.

Draft at the Brewpub: Pours a pale yellow color; very clear. Easily the palest colored ale of my Bend trip. Aroma is faint and of malt and grains. Taste is a little better with light lemon zest, malt, and light bitters. Not bad for the style.

Deep dark brown, almost opaque, with ruby highlights at the edges. Fleeting tan head. Faint coffee and chocolate aroma. The flavor is smoothly delivered with dry coffee, chocolate, and light vanilla. Creamy and smooth with a dry finish.

Kind of a flat-looking dark brown. Creamy, coffeeish aroma is fairly by-the-numbers. Not a ton going on palate-wise either. A simple coffee-accented standard porter.
