Ratebeer chat edition. Bottle from New Beer. $13 ponied up as the result of an exhausted list of options. Rounded pint glass. Constantly frothy. Clear ruby-hued/brown brew. Weak, oatmeal froth. Sticky, archipelago-like lace. Second pour coats like plaster. Smells like alfalfa? Lime & candied/soapy ginger. Citric acid cuts down the middle. Oxidation. Honeyed Black tea accent. Somewhat fumy. Taste is like a mix of sweet tea & malta. Sugar, coffee-ish/oxidized malt. Sticky spilt beer & cola. Plum-ish? Light, soft ginger. Some citrus burn. Lots of caramel, but lots of micro-beaded carbonation to cut it. Eventual woody, crystalline finish. Sweet of course, but cold enough & it’s tolerable. Moderate burn. Well rounded, without getting ugly, imo. Decent carbonation, not too thick for the style, but increasingly sticky as it warms. Tolerable braggots are hard to find. This one was way better then just that.

Ceramic bottle 70 cl. Courtesy of Plovmand. Pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Very sweet honey aroma. Solid body, light but very sweet honey notes - almost sticky sweet. The sweet gale does come through. Very hot alcohol finish. Not bad, but not the most sophisticated mead either. 270411
