Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear golden. Strange smoky nose combined with sugar and heavy alcohol. Solid body, sweet flowery pollen notes, again smoke and syrup - honey not so much. Boozy finish, almost fusel-like. A strange and rough Mead. 160411

Bottle 37,5 cl. At TEMA 2011. Pours golden with a slight haze. The nose is flowery while the honey is a little downplayed. Some sweetness yes, but also a slight tartness. Most surprisingly is a whiff of smoke. Medium body, very fruity without being overly sweet and the elderflower doesn’t really shine through. Again this strange smokiness which according to the producer is common in the heather honey that is the base of this mead. Interesting and different. 280211

5 oz pour from a bottle. An amber mead. Aroma is very cool and herbal, with mint, honey. Medicinal alcohol aromatics. Flavor starts with mint but goes into very strong, sweet honey. Quite syrupy, with a touch of herbal hop notes. My first mead, and it’s extremely tasty.

Bottle, 5cl. More or less clear in the glass, deep golden in color. No head or carbonation. Very alcoholic on the nose, but with a good underlying honey aroma. Some heather. It’s sweet in the flavor, some alcohol too, and rather warming. Heather honey and not much else in the flavor. Except the alcohol though. Warming, sweet finish with dark heather honey. It smells nice actually, not bad flavor either, but it’s way too warming. A sip is nice, a glass is too much. 101016
