From the barrel at Zeitgeist @ The Jolly Gardeners, Lambeth 16/5/08. Deep amber with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of fruity malt, earthy hops and a hint of caramel. Flavour was bitter, with more fruit and grassy hops, some green herbs and a touch of wood, before a light, bitter finish. Enjoyable.

Draught at the Oststrasse: Copper coloured, quite firm beige head; fruity and toasted malty nose with a distinctive bitterness and a tinge of vegetables; distinctive, dryish bitter-sweet flavour, thin body; slightly lingering bitter-fruity finish with a tart "tail". Not so well rounded as the superb "regular" Alt, and not so fresh, because it is rarely demanded........

Etwas fruchtig. Gut, aber nicht super. Test vom 16.11.2007, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 9,10,11,12,11,11 - 10,80

bottle, traded with Shaney from BTO. Copper colour, large and very persistent head. Very pleasant and promising aroma. The flavour is slightly grainy, pleasantly and intensively hoppy with a touch of roasted malt. Perfectly balanced - a superb Altbier.
