Description

Real brewery address: Schwendener Str. 18, 87616 Marktoberdorf. The official address is only the office of administration.

The bottle looks good the same as the beer in the glass. Zippy, creamy head. Starts fruity like apricot, a little bit sweet, modest yeasty. Finish becomes drier and drier, the end is almost a bit floury. Not my favourite!

The bottle looks simple, but okay, the beer in the glass is very zippy, huge head. Starts malty and very dry, also metallically. But that changes quickly, the beer becomes hoppy and dry, not too much, also a bit sourish-fruity. Finish is spicy-woody, well balanced. Not bad!

(swing top bottle) Clear, golden colour with a big and blond foamy head, leaving lace-work Sweet pale malty aroma with a tinge of honey and shy herbal and floral hops. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, almost full-bodied with a moderate carbonation. Pale malty, minimal grainy and subtle fruity taste with light herbal hoppy notes; sweet-bitter malty and herbal hoppy finish with light alcoholic notes. Decent pale Bock. 27.XII.09

Bügelverschlußflasche:Clear, golden, medium-sized off-white head with a little lace; moderate grainy-strawy nose with a molecular hoppy touch and traces of alcohol; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; alcoholic influences, again, in the sweet-grainy and bitter finish. A very average Bock.......

(bottle) Cloudy, murky amber colour with a big and slightly beige foamy head. Slightly dusty and yeasty wheat-malty aroma with strong notes of cloves, nutmeg and a rather restrained fruity touch of banana. Slightly sweet and sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a slightly sparkly mouthfeel. Moderately wheaty, cara-malty and slightly fusty taste with light fruity notes and rather overrepresented phenolic spices from the middle part towards the finish. 22.XII.09

(swing top bottle) Clear, golden colour with a big foamy white head. Sweet pale and slightly cara-malty aroma with a light touch of dough and draff. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with an almost crispy carbonation. Slightly cara-malty and bready taste with doughy notes and shy herbal hops; moderately sweet finish with a light level of bitterness. Clean but also a bit boring brew. Most probably identical to the Allgäuer Weihnachtsbier. 10.XII.09

Bottle, 7.0%. Papery aroma, a litlte chemical. Hazy yellow colour. Big stable white head. The flavour starts off a little dull, turns harshly alcoholic. Has some fruit. Not as caramelly as many other Bocks.

Bottle. Poured dark honey yellow with medium white head. Moderate lacing. Full aroma of malt, honey and new grass. Flavour is all over the tongue, much maltiness. But there was an unfortunate metallic something in the finish that kept this from being a beer to rave about
