Description

Real brewery address: Schwendener Str. 18, 87616 Marktoberdorf. The official address is only the office of administration.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a huge, creamy and white head. Classic banana fruity ester aroma. Flavour is medium dry wheaty with a nice and somewhat complex yeasty fruit mix, different esters mixing in and out: banana, citrus and light apple too. Ends smooth and fruit estery.

500 ml. bottle. Very dark, arguably mahogany color with an impressive tan head. Aroma is primarily darkish fruit. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor starts much like a porter with some chocolate, but dark plummy fruits come forward. The finish is dry, almost astringent, based on near burnt malt. Drinks extremely well.

0.5 l bottle, at 5,5% ABV. Pours murky yellow to light orange body with big white head going down at medium pace. Relatively weak and not rich aroma, yeasty with some orange and banana. Flavor pleasant, but pretty thin and simple, with some light sweetness dominating. Quite lot carbonated. Finish is medium long, following the flavor. Well, the most expensive Hefeweizen I had was so boring and one dimensional for the style...

Rather dull straw colour. Fruity-grainy-malty aroma. Surprisingly plain, straightforward brew - light apple note, some grainy bready malts. Pretty undinteresting, and altogether too macroish for Bavaria.

Bottle Pours out a nice brown topped with a off white head. A pretty nice aroma of malt. Tast was not to bad a little malt and spice. I could pick up on the Alcohol pretty easy. Odd for only 7.2%.

Banana aroma with some delicious chocolate notes. Dingy golden with a thick cream colored head. Indeterminate sour flavor, with slight banana notes, medium body. Delightful cilantro finish with traces of caramel. A moderately hopped hefe.

Sampler at Cardinal Liquors, Frankfort. Darker gold color. Nice malty smell that carries over to the taste. Slips easily down the throat. Maybe it’s my cold, but I get a little yeast in the palate, too. Still, it’s a good malty beer for a chilly day: whether an early Easter or in the fall.

Boring golden color with a medium white head. Skunky, grass, yeast, malts, and corn. Medium body. Flavor of grass, yeast, malts, and herbal. Mild bitter finish. I’ll avoid this one from now on.
