A red-brown beer with a fine light brown head. The aroma is swet malty with notes of roasted bread. And the flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt as well as roasted bread and ending on a dry note. An OK beer, but somewhat simple for a Doppelbock.

Very slight grain aroma - sweeter aroma with a hint of apple. Sour grain flavor with a bitter aftertaste. A distinct tasting beer.

Deep brown, almost black color. A thin head can be coaxed from this with a hard pour down the middle, but it’s a typical Doppelbock head. Rich malty aroma, some alcohol, hints of cherry. Silky smooth, coating the tongue with sweet malt flavor. Some coffee and chocolate flavors as it warms. No alcohol detected, very nice Doppelbock.

A very disappointing weizen. +++Sampled from a 16oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy pale yellow with a medium white head. The aroma was sour wheat. The flavor is sour, acidic, wheaty, and vaguely skunky. A hint of lemon. There is a definite "off" flavor that really ruins this brew for me.

Beer pours a nice copper coler with a nice white head. The aroma is the best thing about this beer. I can smell it across the room. Kind of a bread and earthy smell. Flavor is deffinatly hops and malt but both do not stand out on their own. Overall this been is very drinkable and afffordable when you want to try something different.

Very dark brown in colour with a nice sized light tan coloured head. Aroma of concord grapes, metal, malt and a bit of prunes. Medium to Full-bodied; Nice fruity taste then fading to a malty and spicey finish. The prunes, grapes, raisins and chocolate hits up front initially with strong sweetness. Aftertaste shows a drying character with malt most prevalent. Overall, a nice doppelbock complete with fruity and chocolate tastes! I bought this 16 ounce bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, New York and sampled it on 04-December-2003.

Aromas of citrus and malt. Cloudy yellow with a small head. Flavor of intense citrus, not as sweet as many other wheats. Finish of malt. Thin and refreshing, has some qualities of a crisp white wine. lacking in aroma and appearance.

Wow- it appears the ratings are all over the board for this doppelbock. Poured a dark red-brown, with a white ring of foam clinging to the glass, leaving nice lacing. Strong raisin, prune, and caramel aroma. Likewise, the flavor was dominated by raisin and caramel. Medium-bodied. Alcohol was surprisingly subdued and did not make a noticeable impression. Quite a good doppelbock, better IMO than Optimator or Salvator, although the body could be thicker.

Slightly hazy yellow, short frothy head. It's like between a pils and a real german wheat. Weak taste, watery, citrus. Refreshing though.
