Bottle from Systembolaget, e-order in January 2013. Almost black with a very large, tan head. Aroma and taste of coffee, light roasted malt and something that reminded of chili. Light mouth feel with something sour in the taste. Drinkable but far from a great one.

Bottle from Systembolaget, e-order in January 2013. Hazy orange with an enormous white head. Aroma of caramel, malt and some herbs. I wonder where the hops were? Taste of yeast, malt, some "rubber", earth and herbs. Also notes of chlorine. This one must be infected.

Bottle from Systembolaget, e-order in January 2013. Hazy light amber with an enormous white head. The aroma was nothing that one would expect in an American Pale Ale. Yeast, some earth, citrus and notes of boiled vegetables. The same in the taste. Strange and boring.

330ml Bottle - Dark brown in colour. Dried fruit, marzipan and spicy malt in the aroma. Tart, fruity and a bit roasted taste with notes of raisins, marzipan and caramel. This is drinkable, but I am wondering if it is a bit infected...

33 cl bottle ordered by single bottle via Systembolaget, order section. BB JUN 2013, sampled on November 24, 2012.Slight bit hazy amber to copper color, fairly big yellow to teal head. Sugar, plastic phenoles, milk, some smoke phenoles, sweet scent. I would not say it smells like an IPA or a double IPA (bottle states double), smells more like a Belgian blonde with a bit too much phenoles to it. Dry, acidic, grainy, alcohol, plastic, spicy taste. very dry harsh bitter finish. Lingering bitter and spicy phenolic aftertaste, with cloves and smoke. Very much not a pale ale of any sort in the taste that comes through. Not very pleasant taste for me at all. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, high dry harsh bitterness.I’m not happy with this one, not as of style and not as of what it delivers.

33 cl bottle ordered by the bottle to Systembolaget, marked 5.6% ABV. BB JUN 13, sampled on November 23, 2012.Clear deep golden to amber color, smallish white head. Acidic, minty, toilet freshner, bubble gum scent, also some wheat dough. Acidic, a bit hoppy, citrus taste. Harsh bitter aftertaste. I actually don’t think this is infected, just very very poor choice of hops, add to that some bad off flavors from not handling mashing and sparging well and you get a sort of bad (well, for me at least) tasting beer... Medium thin mouthfeel, harsh medium high grainy bitterness. Harsh grainy aftertaste, mixed with lemon zest and fruit pith from citrus. I’d say seriously consider changing the hops, look over the mashing and sparging temperature and amount of water, make sure you don’t get grain/malt residue in the boil. Why am I writing this as to a poor (by style, well poor all in all) home brew in a judging competition? This is not a good APA at all, and it is not a good beer at all, sorry, make it better next time.Even some alcohol/higher alcohol/fusel alcohol coming through, warming you, don’t make it better though...
