Description
In 1564 for the first time a brewery is mentioned in Svijany. In the following years the brewery was owned by different families. In 1912 it was bought by brewer Antonín Kratochvíle. The Kratochvíle family operated the brewery till 1939. After the war the brewery was confiscated and later nationalized. in 1990 the state enterprise Vratislavice nad Nisou was created, which included Svijany Brewery. In 1998 the company Pivovar Svijany was created, which became the new owner of the brewery. In 2005, it was transformed into a joint-stock company. Gradually Svijany became the strongest regional brand with national importance. The popularity of the brewery is increasing and it is gradually being developed into one of the largest independent breweries in the Czech Republic.
Svijany Brewery is wholly Czech owned and remains one of the last in ‚domestic‘ hands.

zapach świeży, słodowy, z bardzo lekkimi nutami miodu, do tego czyste ziołowe aromaty. zapach bardzo czysty i klasyczny. kolor złoty, dość głęboki, lekko opalizujący. piana biała, średnia, dość szybko opada, ale próbuje się trzymać cienką warstwą po wszystkim. w smaku pełne, lekko kwiatowe, słodowe, z lekkimi mącznymi i zielonymi nutami. goryczka wysoka, czysto ziołowa i lekkie nutki alkoholu. całość dobrze zgrana, przyjemna i czysta.

Puha, mint a testű állat. Mármint a csiga. Selymes, észre se veszed és már el is fogyott, szerintem elcsaltak egy 3 decit a fél littyós üvegből. Gyalázatésszégyen.

(Keg at Soldaten Švejk, 20160323) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was quite large, white and it lasted long. Aroma had grass and mildly butter. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, malts, sweetness, butter and bitterness. Aftertaste was grassy and bitter. A nice hoppy Czech style brew.

Lovely pilsner yeast aroma. Lots of pine and pith and lemon. Soft malts. Lots of Saaz. Very clean and drinkable. I like it!

Swing-top 1L bottle. Quite close to their Kvasnicak (tasted in parallel) - though, despite the color, it is not maltier. Fruity, estery and even some glue. Pretty harsh phenolic bitterness. Disappointing.

Swing-top 1L bottle. Hazy amber, off-white head. "Dirty"malts, with fruity, estery notes, even some glue. Moderate, but somewhat harsh bitter finish. Worse than expected.

500ml bottle [Thanks Gunnar!]. Clear, orangey golden colour with average to huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Pale malty aroma, minimally grassy-spicy hoppy overtones, a touch of husk and protein. Taste is mildly bitter, grassy hoppy, grassy hop spiciness, pale malty basis; super soft palate, minimally prickling carbonation. Good.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Clear deep ruby, big beige head. dark malts with notes of sweetish dark bread, toasted bread, spicy hops. Similar flavour, with a rosty and hoppy bitter finish. A bit too carbonated - would be nice to have a smoother body. Otherwise, a great tmavy.
