Description
In 1564 for the first time a brewery is mentioned in Svijany. In the following years the brewery was owned by different families. In 1912 it was bought by brewer Antonín Kratochvíle. The Kratochvíle family operated the brewery till 1939. After the war the brewery was confiscated and later nationalized. in 1990 the state enterprise Vratislavice nad Nisou was created, which included Svijany Brewery. In 1998 the company Pivovar Svijany was created, which became the new owner of the brewery. In 2005, it was transformed into a joint-stock company. Gradually Svijany became the strongest regional brand with national importance. The popularity of the brewery is increasing and it is gradually being developed into one of the largest independent breweries in the Czech Republic.
Svijany Brewery is wholly Czech owned and remains one of the last in ‚domestic‘ hands.

Barwa ciemna z czerwonymi przebłyskami, trochę jak cherry coke. Mistrzowski lacing. Piana gesta pozostaje do konca. W aromacie slodowe, lekkie nuty slodkich porterów. W smaku lekkie nuty czerwonych owoców. Dobre lecz trochę nudne.

Bottle @ home. Clear red-brown to brown color, medium to full sizde beige to light brown head. Aroma is malts, brown sugar, sweetish. Taste malts, brown malts, candy sugar, some malt bitter, slightly sweet-bitter. Medium body, oily texture, average to medium carbonation. Not bad at all.

Bottle. Retains some resemblance to beer, initially light honeyish maltiness and finishes bitter with a hint of hops flavour. However it is all complemented by lots of oxidation and metallic, which impairs the drinkability and overall impression.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color, full sized white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly iron, nice soft bitterness. Average body and carbonation. Ok beer.

Wygląd: Złota barwa, gęsta drobnopęcherzykowa piana. Dobry lacing. Zapach: Estrowy, zielone jabłko, słodowy. Smak: Słodowy, wyraźny chmiel, nuty zielonego jabłka. Goryczka wyraźna ale średnio przyjemna. Ogólnie: Solidny czeski pils. Ciekawy posmak zielonego jabłka.

Bottle 500ml. @ [ pre TEODRBSG15 ] @ fonefan & Brugmansia House, Denmark. [ As Svijanský Rytíř Bitter 12° ].Clear medium orange yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, cabbage water notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150828]

Bottle. Black colour, beige head. Aroma is caramel, weak coffee, weakly roasted. Light bitterness. Smooth, full body. Lacks character, too heavy. Below average of Czech tmavy.

From bottle in Jesenik, Czech Republic, with OSB 01.10.15. Clear golden. Off-white head. Aroma of grass and wet hay. Similar taste, with hints of apples. Medium low bitterness.

From tap at Prague Beer Museum with TO 30.09.15. Muddy, dark straw colour. Off-white head. Aroma of ripe bananas, wheat, coriander and wine gum. Similar taste. Artificial fruit esters.

On tap. Hazy deep golden body, white head. Aroma and taste of bread, grains and decent amount of fruity hops with some pears maybe. Very nice session beer.
