About
In 1564 for the first time a brewery is mentioned in Svijany. In the following years the brewery was owned by different families. In 1912 it was bought by brewer Antonín Kratochvíle. The Kratochvíle family operated the brewery till 1939. After the war the brewery was confiscated and later nationalized. in 1990 the state enterprise Vratislavice nad Nisou was created, which included Svijany Brewery. In 1998 the company Pivovar Svijany was created, which became the new owner of the brewery. In 2005, it was transformed into a joint-stock company. Gradually Svijany became the strongest regional brand with national importance. The popularity of the brewery is increasing and it is gradually being developed into one of the largest independent breweries in the Czech Republic.

Irgendwie schaffe ich es nicht, mich allzu sehr mit diesem Bier anzufreunden. Im Einstieg finde ich es noch recht nett, da die Hopfenaromen schön harmonieren, dann kommt aber eine Süße durch, die das Gefüge auseinanderbricht, das dann nur von einem hervotretenden Alkohol zusammengehalten wird. Ein netter Versuch, aber nix für mich.

Piwo ladnie wygladajace, klarowne pachnace czeskim chmielem. Jubileusz zasluguje na taka spora piane. Piwo koloru jasnego. W smaku srednio tresciwe z dominacja zateckiego chmielu. Ladna jubileuszowa etykieta i kapsel.

Clear pale blond beer, big fizzy white irregular head, little stable, adhesive. Aroma: sweet, some grains, bit fruity, some praliné (hazelnut paste). MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bit sweet, grains, hay, cow fodder, some hazelnuts. Aftertaste: weird bitterness, cow fodder. Meh.

Bottle, 0.50l, courtesy of CanCrusher. Clear golden color with large frothy white head, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of citrus, vegetables, grass and mild malt. Taste starts with light sweet grainy malt, follows by fresh herbal and citric notes with moderate bitter finish. Medium body, dry texture and average carbonation in palate. Excedllently hopped pilsener...

Draught @ Prague Beer Museum at Náměstí Míru, Prague. Pours hazy light yellow with a creamy white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, banana, bubblegum. Flavor is rather sweet, wheat, yeasty, banana, little citrus, bubblegum. Thin to medium body, lively carbonation. 200414
