(bottle, 33cl) Clear, dark amber to brown colour with a beige and diminishing frothy head. Moderately roasted malty and slightly earthy aroma with notes of dark chocolate, mocha and hints of liquorice. Mildly sweet and slightly roasty bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Roasty and slightly earthy malty base with present notes of chocolate and lighter hints of liquorice and coffee; moderately dry and roasted malty finish with notes of chocolate in the aftertaste. Not very complex but still well-made. 24.VI.17

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, dark amber colour with a beige mid-sized foamy head. Dark malty, slightly toasted and wheaty aroma with pronounced fruity notes of dark and red berries, traces of green bananas and caramel, backed by sweaty spicy accents and chocolate. Moderately sweet and mildly sour flavour, medium bodied with a rather soft carbonation. Mainly berry-fruity taste with dark malt and a moderate wheat character, accompanied by lighter notes of caramel and a whiff of chocolate, the spiciness stays in the background; mildly sweet and delicately sour-fruity finish with shades of chocolate and nearly muted alcoholic notes. Solid. 28.II.17

Fläschchen: Light amber coloured, hazy, stable and creamy medium-sizec head; sweet nose of sweet wheat-malt and bananas with a caramelly background, molecular traces of herbal hops included; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, nearly medium bodied; sweetish fruity-wheaty and a bit tart finish, some hops detectable in the aftertaste. A bit on the sweet side, but all in all quite well crafted...

0.33 l bottle from ’Biermuda’, batch D, best before April 2017. Hazy, dark brown with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish, fruity-grassy, soapy, slightly herbal-resiny and a bit yeasty-spicy aroma of tropical fruits, pine, some nuts and a touch of clove. Sweetish, slightly roasty-malty, rather fruity-grassy, soapy and a bit herbal taste of toasted nuts, bread, tropical fruits, pine and slight hints of clove, followed by a medium long, quite grassy-bitter, slightly resiny finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Didn’t know this was a Dunkelweizen, and I don’t think it matches that well with that fruity-resiny hop flavour. Still a nice beer, but not completely convincing.

Buddel:Deep chestnut-amber coloured, hazy, quickly collapsing loose off-white head; moderate sweet toasty/roasty-caramelly finish with traces of coffee-powder; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, relatively light bodied, at least pretty soft; slightly lingering and a bit drier toasty-caramelly finish with a balancing bitterness in the aftertaste. Nothing wrong with it. A brave little Stout...

Bottle from Biermuda in Bochum. Malty nose with hints of red malts. The beer starts dry and fresh. Earthy hops on a red ale grainy body. Very interesting, earthy floral. The slightly grainy red malts fit in very well, making this brew round and refreshing, very dry, nice.
