If last year’s beer was like helles or "oktoberfest" in style, this one is more like märzen. Clear amber color, small creamy head. Grassy malty aroma. Cellary, lightly toffeish malty brew. Some hops in the finish. Well-brewed for style, but not as good as an excellent 2006 version.

Draught at Black Door, Helsinki. Hazy pale nut brown, minimal head. Interesting wild strawberry aroma. Medium sweet with rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Canteloupe mixes with wild strawberries backed by bready malt. Aromatic finish with above medium bitterness.

Draught. Black opaque colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some syrupy hints also there. Also some caramel and chocolate. Flavour is surprisingly hoppy along with some roasted malts and slight touch of vinegar. Quite nice overall. A bit sticky palate.

Draught (Batch 1@Helsinki Beer Festival, 2007). Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity hops. A very nice thing. Flavour is fruity hoppy, and leaves a very dry mouth afterwareds. Well done experiment. I liked it very much. 8 4 8 3 16

Sample of Batch 2 (Unfiltered)@Beer Hunters, Pori. Amber colour, small mediumsized white head. Very fruity hoppy, caramelly and soma malts in aroma. Flavour is fruity, caramelly, sweet hoppy and a bit grassy. Very nicely balanced and palated brew! 9 4 8 4 17.

Draught@Beer Hunters, Pori. Hazy dark nutbrown colour, mediumsized daerk beige head. Aroma is banana, juniper. some caramel and some slight bittering notes. Flavour is juniper, caramel, some bitter & sourness. Also a lot of banana. Long junipery aftertaste. A quite dry Sahti. One of the more pleasant Sahti’s I’ve had.

Almost opaque black, small, mostly vanishing head. Sweetish aroma: bun, yeast and toasted malts. Medium to full bodied. Berry-like notes (black currant), a bit sweetish and roasted malty. Long roasted-bitterish aftertaste. This batch was maybe not quite ready yet and this variety of Finnish hops is propably not the best one for this stout. (6/4/6/3/12 3.1)

As Beer Hunters’ new NZPA, this one is slightly better on the site. Less berry-like, but with very sticky mouthfeel. Nice hoppy roasted aftertaste. (6/4/7/3/12 3.2)

Clear amber color, small off-white head with big bubbles. Very interesting aroma (thanks to "kiwi" hops): hay, lamb, citrus and pineapple. Fruity, hayish flavor with a bit of citrus there too - relatively low bitterness. Odd hoppy flavor lingers in the aftertaste. I actually invented a name for this one at brewpub some weeks ago ... Much more citrusy, balanced, hayish barnyard notes are tuned down. Better bitterness in the flavor. Nice session ale. (7/4/7/3/13 3.4)

Draught@brewpub. Opaque black colour, mediumsized beige foamy head. Roasted malts, some caramel and spices in the aroma. Roasted malts in flavour at first, with some kicking in hoppy bitterness. Not necessarily watery, but feels like something is lacking.

Draught. Hazy orange/golden colour, with a mediumsized head, which disappears quite quickly. Yeast, grass and cooked vegetables in nose. In the beginning quite malty flavours, but quickly turns into a big hoppy thing in the finish. Long bitter and dry aftertaste with some sweet caramellish notes. Indeed an interesting brew from Beer Hunters, not necessarily that good, but a rather different one (compared to many other things).

Hazy orange color, vanishing white head. Fruity, yeasty, grassy and vegetably nose. Malty with sweetish (partly unfermented) sugars - then very strong hoppy flavors in the finish. Long hoppy bitter aftertaste with underlying sugar sweetness.
