Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a medium dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma was dry, roasty and nutty. The flavor was dry, roasty and bitter with light nut, smoke and wood underneath. The finish was long, dry and roasty with a touch of smoke. Medium body. A bit disappointing.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a dark red-amber color with a trace beige head and a slight amount of lacing. The aroma was faint sweet malts, fruit and a hint of caramel. The flavor was fruity with undertones of caramel, nut, oregano and sugar. The finish was long with caramel, nut and cherry lingering. Very smooth and somewhat full bodied - the alcohol was very well hidden. Tasty.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a black color with a large foamy brown head that lingered and left some lacing. The aroma was dry, roasty coffee. The flavor was bitter and toasty with notes of coffee, cocoa and malted milk and a faint floral hop undertone. The finish was medium length roasty malted milk. Fairly full bodied. Not sweet enough for a foreign stout in my view. Nice.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a dark orange-amber color with a small beige head. The aroma was tangy grapefruit, pine and pineapple. The flavor was tangy and bitter with a on off sour nutty presence and moderate fruity, floral and resiny hops. There was a note of table sugar underneath. The finish was long and dry with piney and fruity hops and again the sour nut. Full bodied. Hides the alcohol well.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy brown head. The aroma was dryish, roasty and a touch spicy with moderate floral hops. The flavor was dry, roasty and bitter with floral hops, pepper an a long dry finish. Medium body. Ok.

Sampled on nitro draft at the brewery this beer poured a black color with a huge creamy brown head. The aroma was toasty and dryish with notes of coffee and vanilla. The flavor was dry, toasty and malty with notes of vanilla, coffee and faint chocolate. It tasted a lot like coffee ice cream. The finish was medium length roasty coffee. Full and smooth body. Interesting.

Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub in North Huntingdon PA this beer poured a medium golden color with a medium sized foamy white head that lingered. The aroma was faint, tangy and had a touch of fruit. The flavor was tangy and lightly fruity and a little tart - somewhat mild and indistinct. The finish was short, tart and tangy. Smooth body. Eh.

Sampled on cask at the brewery this beer poured a very dark brown color with a trace red highlights and a large creamy khaki head. The aroma was bitter, tangy and roasty with a light fruity undertone. The flavor was bitter, tangy and fruity with a light roasty malt base and a touch of coffee. The finish was long, bitter and tangy. Fairly full bodied. Good.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a dark caramel-amber color with a large tan head. The aroma was dryish with piney and fruity hops. The flavor was dry, sharp and bitter with moderate fruity and piney hops. The finish was long with bitter piney hops. Medium body. Ok.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a dark brown color with a trace of a tan head. The aroma was light nutty malts, a touch roasty and had a faint fruity hop presence. The flavor was dryish, nutty and malty with a light fruity undertone. There was a light roastiness and no bitterness. The finish was long, nutty and dry. The body was fairly smooth. Solid.
