As Hammersmith Bitter. A dense, off-white head of finger-thick size forms over a more or less clear dark golden body. Some lacings. The aroma is lightly citrusy with some pale malts. Not much flavor, just some pale malts and a little fruityness. Medium body, quite low on carbonation. Some bitterness in the fruity finish. A rather boring one, but at least easy drinkable. 140118

A dense, light beige head of moderate size sits on top of a more or less clear dark amber body. The aroma is a tad boring, and far from as intense as I’d expect from an American strong ale. Caramel maltyness, some piney and grassy hops and a touch of licorice. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Quite bitter in the mouth, with some caramel and grassy malts. Some acetone hints, which is a bit surprising for a beer at 6.3%. A decent one, but nothing more. 140118
