gouden/ pisgele helder met minimale witte kraag aroma: goedkope weeige pilsmouten, citrus, stro smaken: matig zoet, licht bitter, licht gemout, peper, koriander lichte body, dun, laag co2, afdronk: droog goedkope pils(moutig) biertje. --- Beer merged from original tick of Shakhterskoe Premium on 23 May 2018 at 15:15 - Score: 4

Bottled 500ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him and luttonm. Another Monolith beer...great...Pale golden coloured, small white head, touch of caramel and alcohol in the nose. Sweet malty, crappy grainy and hint of caramel with short dusty finish. Crap as I’ve expected.

Bottle from a Russian supermarket in Germany. Poured a yellow color with an off-white head. Pine and malt aroma with a corny sweetness.

Another one from the Russian store in Vienna. Dull golden body, tiny white head, 1 bubble going up at a time. Great. Alcohol in the nose. This is 5.5%. WHAT THE!?!?!?!? Sweetish, yet light. But mostly alcohol. FUUUUUUUU.... More alcohol in the taste, malt otherwiese, tiny grainy notes, tastes like 7-8%, not 5.5%, and that’s not a good thing. Why?

April 2009 on BA: This brown 0.5litre bottle came to me from ’Beers of Europe’, via MONOLITH GmbH (a German firm). The front label has a viking boat with a red sail as its center piece. The beer is 4.9%. Although the only other reviewer had a different bottle (label wise and strength wise), I am sure this is the same beer. Very, very pale yellow, a golden weak urine colour to be honest. The white head did try and stay on each of the three pours (into a Veltins Pilsner glass). There was a hint of cereals in the aroma, but not much else, gets my standard 3 for a non-smelling pils/lager. Tasted better than it looked, a run of the mill pilsner with no outstanding or interesting features. Clean, refreshing and OK. No real body depth, but what true pilsners have? Would hold its own against better known German pilsners (Becks, Dab, etc). I won’t be booking any flights or re-ordering any more of these, but it isn’t an unpleasant beer by any means.
