33cl bottle, thanks Beerhunter111! BBE 12/2014. Copper color, thick white head. Yeasty spicy, sweet aroma, floral notes. Sweet, perfumy, floral, grainy flavor, hint of metal as well. Sticky sweet finish. Not a beer I would try again.

Bottle thnx to Dorien pours clear amber , ok white head . Smell is herbal, sweet Taste is sweet, bit herbal, bit earthy . Some caramel . Balanced, weak but OK .

The best-known beer in Luxembourg, tasted from bottle and from can. Thin, lightly sticky, quickly desintegrating head on a standard golden blonde colour with calm sparkling. Simple aroma of pale malts, corn, iron and flowery hops. Neutral taste with tingling carbonation, then sweetish pale malts, finishing relatively long and dry thanks to aromatic hops - a redeeming feature of an otherwise very bland lager.

Straightforward amber-coloured beer with cream white head and brownish but otherwise rather pale amber colour. Nutty aroma with hints of pear, peach, caramel and the ’death’ smell of pasteurization. Neutral taste, lightly malty, bit nutty, bit caramelly, some dried fruits in the background, thin and watery mouthfeel, light hoppiness in the finish. I cannot understand why Luxembourg, despite its proximity to Belgium geographically and culturally, would settle for such boring beers.

Luxembourg Christmas beer (lager that is, not ale) with a moussy, creamy, light beige, relatively thick but unstable head and dark ruby red colour, clear. Aroma of caramel, pine needles, cookies, liquorice, coffee grounds, sweet tobacco, dates, popcorn. Taste begins neutral only to become light sweetish, caramelly malty, straightforward, finishing lightly hopped, a bit smoky, toasted bitterness, bland and dry. Very boring in comparison with Belgian Christmas beers but then, it is ’only’ a lager.

(Draught at Vis-a-Vis, Luxembourg, 7 July 2014, as "Diekirch Reserve") Amber colour with dense, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, treacle-toffee, red fruit, slightly toasty malt and a touch of chestnut honey. Malty, roasted taste with notes of crisp-bread, dried fruit, apricots and a slightly metallic finish with a spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite enjoyable.

Tijdens vakantie in Luxemburg, gouden, moutig, vrij licht spul, standaard lichte pils had toen niet altijd mooi weer waardoor de waardering voor zo’n licht bier wat naar beneden werd bijgesteld. --- Beer merged from original tick of Diekirch Premium on 23 May 2018 at 16:48 - Score: 3
