This bottle looks like it is from the west, 12 oz brown with twist off cap. In a man like manner, twist off the cap and get a whiff of dark roasted malt. The color is opaque brown and when you taste it, the flavor of bittersweet chocolate sticks it’s happy head out.Not quite as imperial as other porters I’ve had but it definately packs a bitter burnt back of throat punch. Perhaps a little rude for my girlie taste buds. Alcohol seems like it is around 6%. Roasted and dark, appreciate the beauty. More personality than I would like. Bitter unsweetened chocolate or cold black coffee back of throat linger. Yuengy’s Black & Tan is refreshing if you use this scotch porter as a standard.

Cloudy orange-amber body with a small off-white head. Sweet caramel and mild hops aroma. Sweet caramel and tea flavor with a light floral bitter in the end.

Pours deep dark amber-mahogany with a couple of photons of light making the journey at the edges creating a deep red glow. The tan head dissipated quickly. The aroma comes off as rich roasted malts, malt sweetness and what seems like a hint of smoke. The taste starts out with roasted, burnt and chocolate malts. There’s also a malt sweetness that approaches a caramel character. Near the finish a faint coffee note surfaces and then gets over-run by more burnt malts. Tasty brew.

Pours dark brown with chocolate malt colored head that lasted all of one minute. The aroma comes out as sweet molasses, roasted malts, burnt malts and a hint of cedar planks. The flavors all seem to assault my senses at once with sweet molasses, burnt malts and chocolate malts. As the taste hits the midway point I notice the sweeter molasses note drops away leaving burnt and chocolate malts. A moment later I also get a hint of coffee. The finish is mild, roasty and somewhat sweet.

Bottle from Padrefan98: Pours a hazy copper/orange color with a modest off-white head. Thick lacing. Nose is citrus and piney hops, some sweet malts and fruitiness. Taste is more hops, both citrus and floral. Hints of pine. A nice, sweet malt balances out the taste into a lingering bitter trailer. Very good.

12 oz bottle that poured a hazy orange copper with nice tan head. It has a sizable aroma that seems to be both grapefruit and pine hops as well as some sweet malt. The malt seems to cause the tart grapefruit smell much sweeter. Wow, juicy bitter grapefruit flavor that flows into sweeter and sweeter citrusiness as the malts ante up and kick in. Just beyond midway bitter pine hops join the fun. Ends as any IPA or IIPA should with tasty hoppiness right into the after taste. High on the Yumminess scale.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Amber colour, slightly cloudy, with off-white, frothy head. Fruity, seriously hoppy nose with pine needles, grapefruit and orange peel. Fruity taste with orange, apricots and almost overwhelming amounts of fresh American hops giving it hints of pine needles and grapefruit in the very hoppy finish. Rather one dimensional, but with a very nice hop character.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pale golden, average head. Rich hoppy nose with lots of lychee and pineapple. The mouthfeel is surprisingly soft and gentle and the body is light. It’s completely dominated by the aroatic hops, yet the bitternes is not really that powerful. A cottony hop aroma experience.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Cloudy dark amber, small head. Rich grapefruity hop aroma. Rather sweet and solidly malty with light crystal malt character. Very rich on soapy, grapefruity hops. Lingering bitterness. Very American and straight to the point - and very good!
