Description
It started on Plaza Drive in New Albany, Indiana, with Sportstime Pizza in 1987 (now the NABC Pizzeria), followed by Rich O’s (NABC Public House) in 1990, the incorporation of the New Albanian Brewing Company in 1994 and the launch of the original New Albanian Brewery in 2002 (the first commercial brewery in New Albany since 1935). The Pizzeria & Public House are still going strong.
In New Albania, beer is a way of life. NABC stands for a quarter-century of experience, education, recognition and success. Not only that, but our machines kill fascists, too.
Now more than ever before, we ask: Can your beer do that?

Bomber. Deep brown body with ruby highlights. Short, tan head, rapidly diminishing. Sweet, malty aroma. Notes of overripe, dark fruits, vanilla, roasted malts, molasses, vanilla. chocolate. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Tastes of sweet plum and cherry. Some caramel and chocolate. The finish has some lingering bitterness and also flavors of toasted and raw grains, though not near as much as in other Albanian beers. A bit sweet and a bit thin, but otherwise very tasty and one of New Albanian’s best beers.

Bottle mailed by Tyler, given to Urbain, who generously shared it with us over a spectacular barbecue. Cloudy yellow color, medium white head. Great citrus aroma with a bit of freshly cut grass. Taste has lemon and grapefruit with a bit of bread. Nice stuff.

Bottle. Golden body with a huge, pillowy white head, slowly diminishing. Nose is citrusy with grapefruit and orange notes, pine, toasted grain and a hint of caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet and ightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. The bitterness lingers a long time. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Nice spicy hop taste that’s somewhat muted by some unclean huskiness and grain flavors. Still, this is an enjoyable IPA.

Draft. Amber body with an off-white, frothy head, mostly diminishing. Hop-filled aroma of pine, citrus, sweet orange, grapefruit, pineapple. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately to heavily bitter, a bitterness that lingers. Medium to full body, slightly sticky texture, lively carbonation. Taste of grapefruit and orange juice. But there’s also an undercurrent of raw hops and grain, something I’ve noticed in several New Albanian beers. Leaves the impression of being not quite cleaned up. That aside, this is a tasty double IPA.

Thanks Travlr for the share, 4th of July at Struise.

Draft. Amber body with a frothy, off-white head. Pleasant aroma of caramel, resin, candy. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture and fizzy carbonation. The aroma is better than the flavor. Raw grain taste. Grassy hops. A bit unclean, but not off-putting.

Draft at Rich O’s. Golden body, lightly cloudy. Aroma of citrus and pine along with leafy hops. Hint of toasted grain and biscuit. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Mediium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Crisp and clean and juicy. This beer showcases simcoe hops, but displays too much raw hop flavor for my taste. Otherwise a nice APA. Paired this with Rich O’s world-class bread sticks and beer cheese.
