Now more than ever before, we ask: Can your beer do that?

Beer #20 at GTMW ’09. Great stout look in the glass, big brown head over a black body. Smell has hint of gunpowder from toy cap pistols, but also a sweet beer smell. Cherries are very much there in the taste, but still kind of light and likeable. Stout has none of the flaws of the style: no astringency or burnt grain taste, no coffee. Just a straightforward stout base. Goes down very nicely. A great aperitif beer.

Beer #19 at GTMW ’09. Actually cloudy despite pilsener color. White pils head, though. Smell is nice, though alcohol does come in stronger than pils fragrance. Taste is mostly alcohol, but some pilsener hops do come through the center of my sample glass.

Beer #15 at GTMW, from the Real Ale tent. Very clear, almost pilsener-like color. As a cask beer it has few bubbles and a very thin head. Nice hoppy smell, of course. Great IPA taste with a thin cask mouthfeel; lets the beer slide right on down, so I give the "Palate" the max I can rate. A fine example of a Real Ale style IPA.

@Indiana Beerfest-pours a white ring for a head and yellow/gold color. Aroma is lemon hops. Taste is lemon/citrus hops, secondary malt.

Pour is a golden with a white head. Aroma is a nice biscuit with a hoppy backbone. Flavor is again lots of dry malts and a nice hoppy aftertaste. Very easy to drink and the alcohol is no problem. Think of pilsner urqueli but to the extreme!

Sampled at the Savor DC event. Pours a opaque, watery black with a cloudy tan head. Aroma has tons of vanilla, oak, cherries and bourbon. The flavor surprisingly loses alot of the oak, primarily roasted malt, nuts, coffee and some vanilla. As far as barrel aged beers go, this misses the mark a bit.

Sampled at the Savor DC event. Cloudy, copper orange body with a cloudy white head. Aroma of tropical fruits and some pine. Flavor is all bitter citrus, pine, spice and some lurking malty sweetness. Sticky on the tongue but still very drinkable.

Growler. Smoked meat and malt aroma. Dark black-brown color with small head. Smoked ham and malt flavor with a light than expected body. A very nice smoked beer - would do Bamberg proud. (2012 version - just as solid - doesn’t seem like I need to adjust rating at all).

Tap. Tart cherry malt aroma. Dark brown color with a small head. Puckeringly tart cherry with a light juniper/heather flavor. A very unique beer. / 2013/14 version - More caramel malt and noted bourbon in the aroma and flavor - minimal sourness . Much more smooth.

On tap at Rich O’s Publick House when I stopped on the way to Dark Lord Day. Clear dark brown with a fleeting tan head. Malt aroma. The flavor follows the aroama with some bitterness appearing in the finish.
