Description
Crux is a crossroads, an intersection, the heart of something. In brewing it's that pivotal point where fermentation happens and anticipation mounts.
We’re Crux Fermentation Project— housed in a former AAMCO Transmission Plant and inspired by our location right in the heart of Bend, Oregon. Our brewery is a one-of-a-kind, built for non-traditional brewing methods like decoction mashing, open fermentation and barrel aging, and for leveraging the limitless possibilities that wild yeast strains and experimental hops present.

Bottle, 2020. Pours opaque black with a creamy medium dark brown head, lasting with great lacing. Aroma is roast, molasses, earthy, tobacco, oaky bourbon, hint of cocoa and vanilla. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, rich molasses and deep roasted malt. Bourbon notes present but light. Full, creamy body.

Classic porter. Light and dry and crisp without to much roast or sharp bitterness. Instead the lager-like crispness gives it that quenching drinkability. Sterk Amsterdam

Crux Lawn Party 5% Hoppy Golden Ale 30 IBU Lovely matte gold with a thick foamy white head and bright zesty light citrus hop bouquet. Soft round carbonation on a light body. The flavor is chewy pale malts that are slightly sweet with orange blossoms. So on point light and drinkable.

On tap at the source, July 2016. Pours clear deep ruby amber with a thin beige head. Aroma: lots of bourbon, brown sugar, raisisn, oak, like a boozy fruitcake. Taste: raisins, bourbon barrel, fruitcake, cherry, dark fruits, oak, brown sugar. Medium body with light carbonation. Lovely
