Description
Crux is a crossroads, an intersection, the heart of something. In brewing it's that pivotal point where fermentation happens and anticipation mounts.
We’re Crux Fermentation Project— housed in a former AAMCO Transmission Plant and inspired by our location right in the heart of Bend, Oregon. Our brewery is a one-of-a-kind, built for non-traditional brewing methods like decoction mashing, open fermentation and barrel aging, and for leveraging the limitless possibilities that wild yeast strains and experimental hops present.

16.9 oz waxed bottle. Rated last night. Aroma is whiskey, coconut, wood, chocolate, raisin, molasses, licorice. Pours dark brown to black with a one finger tan head that collapses into a big bubbly ring after a minute. Taste is highly sweet and boozy, finishing with a faint dry bitterness. If there are spices in this, I'm not detecting them. Nice velvety mouthfeel. Almost too boozy for my tastes, but it really started to grow on me. It's a nice yummy sipper that warms the belly.

OnTap at BiterCreek Classic medium amber color, persistent off white head. Very nice toasted malts and some biting rye notes in there as well. Sharp and clean, but still plenty of smooth toasted malts. Hoped enough for balance. Good

Hazy golden colour. Moderate resin character from the hops, a bit oily and boozy. Ok beer.

Dull, cloudy, golden, no head. Semi-sweet, even the flavour is dull.
It's not fresh, but nevertheless this is more oxidized than it should be, and it has never been good.

12 oz can from Boise Co-op. Pale, clear golden, big frothy head fades to patches. Aroma comes in sweet, with a woody, piney edge. Taste is malty, mildly sweet and not that hoppy. Very laid back.

16 oz can from Boise Co-op. Dark, clear amber with small, tight head. Malty aroma, caramel, hops. Lightly sweet flavors at first, until the hops grab hold of your tongue. Sharp bitter bite on top of some toffee notes.

16 oz can from Bier:Thirty. Light amber pour with a small foamy head. Light malty aroma, citrus. Taste brings more malts, with a light, tingly hop feel. Kind of sweet.
