Description
Crux is a crossroads, an intersection, the heart of something. In brewing it's that pivotal point where fermentation happens and anticipation mounts.

We’re Crux Fermentation Project— housed in a former AAMCO Transmission Plant and inspired by our location right in the heart of Bend, Oregon. Our brewery is a one-of-a-kind, built for non-traditional brewing methods like decoction mashing, open fermentation and barrel aging, and for leveraging the limitless possibilities that wild yeast strains and experimental hops present.

Draft Extreme Beer Fest 2016. Aroma is deep dark roasted grains, strong oak, cocoa nibs, molasses and a big note worthy bourbon blast.

Deep layers of roast. Molasses, espresso bean, dark bitter chocolate. The bourbon is not hidden in this at all, nice mellow burn on the way down the throat with a nice belly warming sensation. The mouthfeel is correct for the style, nice full and creamy texture. Dense feeling with an oily slick texture. I hope to sample this again someday. This batch of bourbon came out in a wonderful boldness that didn’t over run the base stout. Lovely.
