Blond color; poor head. Quite sweet aroma. Strange taste, a bit smokey (the buckwheat?). Poor.

Bottled (BB 11/2004)
Pale lager color with small white head. Aroma is skunky hops and plastic. Oily medium-bodied malty palate. Same plastic aftertaste like in aroma.

This beer has become a staple for my wife and is fairly frequently enjoyed by myself as well. Still the best beer I have had from Italy. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a dark brown color with a large tan head. There is a sweet, malty aroma with a hint of molasses. The flavor is sweet and malty with hints of caramel and molasses. By far the best Italian beer I have come across.

Blond color. Light malt character, but overall a very common lager.

Import bottle. Kicked up a rather tall head when poured into a tall glass. The thick head persisted, leaving rings behind. A dark amber body with almost no carbonation bubbles, but little pinpricks on the tongue. Taste is very sweet, more than malty. Hop profile is mild, but somewhat like a Vienna. Has a pretty good lager finish. ABV is a nice bonus, made me decide "it must be a bock" before I came here to rate it. Definietly go for this if it's in an Italian restaurant.

Appearance: Light golden, small head, some lacing. Smell: next to nothing. Taste: average, but very thin. Mouthfeel: watery as hell, felt like I was drinking beer with ice cubes that had half-melted. There was virtually nothing here. It's drinkable, because there's nothing to it. But if you want a good beer taste, this isn't it. Not worth the price of the import. Drink Bud Light and save a few bucks if you want a beer like this. (note: I am not recommending Bud Light, but saying that this is the import version of that).

Blond color. Some malt aroma, and fish! Fish and paper in the taste, absolutely watery, with a too high hop infusion. Awful!

I will admit it is unexciting. But when I poured the nice light banana yellow, with plenty of foam and a nice mild hops and tart pear/apple aroma, I was expecting another crappy non-beer-liking-European-country-lager flavor. This was not. It was slightly sweet, a touch buttery, fluffy and had ample tartness on the finish. No hint of sourness, skunkiness or staleness. Just a very light quaffable pils. I'll drink it again for sure.

Pale blond color, big head. Light malt aroma. Ordinary taste, simple, honeyish, too much corn; pretty strong mouthfeel. Correct bitterness.
