Description
Victor-23 is a neighborhood craft brewery and pub that embraces the adventurous history of the Pacific Northwest. On a stormy evening in November 1971, a man known as D.B. Cooper hijacked a Boeing 727 flying from Portland to Seattle. In Seattle, D.B. released all the passengers once the plane was refueled and he was given 2 parachutes and $200,000 in cash. The plane soon departed and the pilot was directed to fly south on the Victor-23 airway. Somewhere in Southwest Washington, DB Cooper lowered the rear stairway and parachuted to an uncertain fate. Our brewery celebrates this unsolved crime and invites you to ponder the case over a cold pint of Skyjacker IPA, Flight 305 Amber, Jet Fuel Imperial IPA, or Schaffner Pilsner.

New brewery! Brewery # 2240, USA # 1837, Washington # 37. Keg at the brewery, 9/13/23. Cool to find a malt liquor tick. Clear gold, thin white head, average retention. Aroma of bready malt, caramel. Taste is piney hops, caramel. Well balanced. Nice.

16 oz can poured. A cloudy rose peach color pour. Refreshing sour here with cool and sweet, mild fruit character, and good balance of floral, bitter, and sweet flavor profiles. Very mild level of sour on this brew. Has a slight candy sweetness in the finish. Plenty of the advertised hibiscus. Juicy orange finish. Only about a 2/10 on my sourness scale. Plenty of flavor to boot though. Nice, refreshing, drink that is more than sessionable as well. Lots of good things going on with this sour. Quite nice.

16 oz can poured, picked up at Hop and Hound. Hope we continue to see brews from these guys making their way to Seattle. A pale golden pour with a bit of a cloudiness. Tons of pils grain on the nose, an aroma that jumps out more than your usual pils. Grassy hops underneath straw grains. Refreshing pils. Plenty of flavor with this one. Good brew to pair with a ball game.

16 oz can poured. Picked up at Hop and Hound, just a couple weeks after asking the owner if he had heard of these guys. Coincidence? I picked up a can from these guys on my way to Portland a little while back, and my curiosity has been up since the first try. Golden pour, soft haze. A nice balanced IPA, caramel mat, citrus hops. Citrus peel bitterness. Rich caramel flavor that lingers. A tasty IPA here. Enjoyed this.

16 oz can poured, picked up at Hop and Grape. I really need to make a Vancouver only trip and visit these guys as well as all the others in the area. A reddish pour, amber, with a ton of beige foam. Caramel malt steady aroma. Sturdy malt constant. It's an Imperial, and it ain't afraid to show it. It is what they say it is. Sweet caramel, soft citrus hop background. Late prolonged bitterness. Not bad.

Can from Belmont Station. Hazy orange amber with small foamy head. Light malty aroma, taste brings super astringency, sharp, biting bitterness. Some caramel malts detected, but completely obliterated by the hops. Over the top bitterness.
