Description
The Brasserie des Cimes was created 20 years ago by an Irish-American, Michael Sweeney, who, seeing the rise of microbreweries in the United States, had the idea to implement the same scheme in France. He came to Savoie for the quality of the water. Michael Sweeney initially partnered with the Routin company, which carried the brewery for several years. In 2014, the company became fully independent.

Since its first beer brewed in June 1999, it has continued to develop its product offering. And its growth, which has been steadily increasing for several years. We hope to be able to make further progress, says Cindy Durchon, Executive Director. The Aix-based craft beer SME sold 32,000 hectoliters in 2018 and is targeting 34,000 hectoliters for 2019.

Thank you Mathieu87 & PriorL! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Mathieu’s house cooling party”. BBF 04.14. Light hazy golden, little bubbles. Nose is rotting milky malts, insecticide, rotting esters. Taste is esters & spoiled lemon, sugar, light vinegar, caramel. Watery & lemon acid body. Really flawed, this cannot be just the age. Not good.

Thank you Mathieu87 & PriorL! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Mathieu’s house cooling party”. BBF 12/13. Hazy citrus golden, little white bubbles. Nose is weird perfume, excessively so with rotting perfume wheat, chemicals, mildly lactic & potpourri. Taste Is watery, rotting citrus, spoiled, fizzy, milky perfume, lemonade, spoiled lemonade,…. Thin, watery, faintly lactic body,… Not good to put it simple, a mix of bad quality (esp. looking at the other ratings) & age.

Bottled 330ml. -from Sherpa supermarket, Alpe d’Huez. Unclear brown coloured, small to medium sized pale beige head, slightly vinous roasty nose. Toasted malt, caramel, notes of chocolate and nuts with moderate sweet finish. Light spicy also. Not bad.

Bottled@Björntasting. Goldeny orange colour with a small white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some marzipan as well as mild wooden and earthy notes. Flavour is quite similar, but has some more spices, marzipan and also some mild nutty notes to it. Yet a bit thin as for the palate.
