Black color with medium sized creamy head. Very nice aroma, balanced mix of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel, with a good body structure; it has plenty of roasted malt and dark chocolate flavor, with just a hint of leather and liquorice, and it’s rather dry; correct bitterness.
Flavorful, solid and extremely well balanced.

Hazy bright amber color with large compact head. Fresh aroma, with mild fruitiness, and light mint, not as the usual Nelson Sauvin. Good body strength, with lean body; malt and caramel flavor, with moderate and not cloying sweetness, good bitterness level, mild fruity touch and resins, and hints of the Nelson Sauvin character.
A good beer, one of the few very drinkable Double IPAs, that could be fantastic if fresh.

Hazy bright amber color, with large creamy head. Strange aroma, apricot yoghurt (fruit and cream). Good malt flavor, with correct body strength, quite lean; the mouthfeel is rather round; medium sweetness; moderate bitterness, with faded but nice fruitiness, and some hop resins.
Surely a good beer, but this one as well is apparently too old.

Hazy dark amber color with medium sized creamy head. Some caramel aroma. Good body strength, caramel flavor, residual sweetness, a bit dusty, correct bitterness, but no hop quality.
Sadly old.

The amber color is hazy, not bright but dull, with huge compact head. Strong fruity hop aroma, fresh, with mango and oranges, followed by light grassy/sweaty touch. Caramel flavor, with smooth and semi-dry mouthfeel (some sweetness can be perceived in the end), with a hint of wood and cream, and correct bitterness; mild hop resins and hop fruitiness; the final is a bit terreaux; good balance overall.
Amazing how the carbonation, although excessive, grows a huge head without shaking.
Very good, but slightly dirty.

The benchmark is Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Märzen
Dark brown color with some red hue, and generous beige compact head. The aroma is mild, not fatty schinken, but woodfire instead, instinctively drier, a bit creamy. The carbonation is too high, like most beers from S&A, hence the mouthfeel is impacted, it’s smooth and dry, and just too lean; flavor of roasted malt with a touch of firewood, coal; luckily no liquorice; correct bitterness, with a dry but balanced end, although the final is a bit weak.
I prefer some residual sweetness usually, but it’s a good beer.

Beautiful bright hazy amber color with huge compact head. It has a powerful aroma of malt, with hints of grains, light fruity hops, traces of black pepper. Good malt and caramel flavor, full bodied, yet lean, with just moderate residual sweetness; strong bitterness, with evident resiny components and decent fruity qualities; balanced final. Lacking a bit of freshness.
Very good.

Beautiful bright hazy amber color, with creamy head. Light caramel aroma, with a light earthy and dusty impression, later some fruits (sweet oranges). It has a good body strength, with lean mouthfeel, dodging the risk, at this gravity, to be too sweet; quite good malt flavor, with correct (strong) bitterness; there are some hop resins, but the rest of the hop qualities seems to have faded.
A beer that was brewed well, but too old.

Black color with huge brownish head, compact, persistent. The aroma is strong and very nice: roasted malt, cocoa, dark bread, hint of quality coffee. There is too much carbonation, that affects the mouthfeel; very good flavor of roasted malt and dark chocolate, with nice touch of coffee, and traces of liquorice; it also has a creamy feeling; correct bitterness; the residual sweetness is low.
Excellent.

Hazy copper color with generous but controlled compact head. Mild aroma, with a touch of star anise. Lean body, smooth mouthfeel; some malt flavor, correct bitterness, but with a vegetables and chicory aftertaste.
I can’t find much interest here.
