Bottle split at the Kernel, thanks to an IP trade with Ronny - rglk, 09/11/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a light tan covering. Nose is dark malts, toffee, dark fruit, metallic notes. Taste comprises tangy dark fruits, light roast, hint of cocoa. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light roast in the finish. Ok impy porter but doesn’t hold much depth, wouldn’t revisit.

Hazy brownish, golden color, small white head. Fruity sweetish aroma. Light to medium bodied. Berryish sweetish flavor, rye? not much. Light herbal note. Slightly tart. Nothing special.

Aroma: Liquorice, some vanilla, roasted malt, chocolate.
Body: Medium body, low carbonation.
Flavour: Liquorice, dried fruit, chocolate, raisin, caramel.
Comment: Was rather disappointed with this one. Had expected so much more. Not bad, but nothing that raises it above an average strong porter.

Bottle shared at The Kernel, London - thanks to Colin for this brewski. Pours clearish brown with a big, khaki head. Light tangy dark malts in the nose, a bit of burnt wood. Light to medium sweet flavor with wet wood, chocolate, tangy dried fruits. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with still more tangy dark fruits, faint baking cocoa. I don’t think the condition is ideal but it’s still an interesting offering.

Flaska från SB. Disig, gyllenfärgad vätska, 2 cm högt skum. Doft av örtig och gräsig humle och småkakor, men också lite bubbelgum och såpa i bakgrunden. Relativt humlebesk och lite oljig, lätt kropp, drickvänlig, lite tvåliga smaker som inte blir så trevliga i eftersmaken. Ett i grunden trevligt öl som har lite märkliga bismaker.

Flaska från SB. Bärnstensfärgad vätska med högt vitt skum. Doft av potatisskal och bubbelgum. Lite kartong finns också. Lätt beska i smaken. Mjuk munkänsla. Kort eftersmak.

Smak och doft av choklad, kaffe, vanilj, ekfat och torkad frukt. Rund, len, lagom sötma med mycket smaker som framträder trots en aning tunn kropp. En bitter chokladbeska avrundar det hela. Roligt att lilla Qvänum kan göra så gott öl.

Flaska från SB. Fantastiskt fin doft med mycket vanilj, bourbonkaffe och chokladkola. Kroppen är kanske lite tunn och smaken blir inte lika fyllig som doften men med det sagt är det ändå en sensationellt lyckad fatlagring. Roligt att lilla Qvänum kan göra så stor öl.
