Description
Founded in 1900, Cervezas Ambar is an independent Spanish brewery that maintains the spirit of a constantly evolving family enterprise. With 18 beer varieties, it has more specialities than any other brand. It continues to produce beer at the same brewery where it began operations in the early part of the last century, located in the historic San José neighbourhood. There they maintain the craft processes of the 20th century, with their own malting facility and the only open vat fermentation room still in use anywhere in Spain.

Color dorado claro, transparente, espuma blanca poco duradera.

mild flowery and dry nutty malty aroma, if a barleywine then surely a very nutty not very malty one. The flowery (sort of belgian blonde like, but much fainter) notes also seem to be a bit strange for a barley wine. From the aroma I would guess european imperial lager. After some more sniffing I have now concluded it is barley wine aroma I am getting. The sort of barley wine I have smelled years ago in shall we say traditional gret britian barley wines. so okay, there's that. Let it warm up, and you get yourself a boozy bone dry very nutty traditional european barley wine aroma. Flavor is similar to aroma, nutty quite dry malty aroma that just barely covers the high alc. and not much else. still also reminds me of imperial lager a lot. This is a weird beer. I felt like an imperaial lager anwyays, if you expect that, it's quite decent.

330ml bottle from Wise Bartender. Gluten Free. Clear golden amber colour, bubbly white foam head and aroma of malt, floral, fruity, nutty. Taste is sweet, malty, molasses, caramel, grains, with some citric tangy nutty bitterness. Thin watery mouthfeel, light bodied, soft carbonation, drying malty bitter finish. OK.
