Sample @ 6de Gents Bierfestival 2015.

(Thx! for sharing) Sampled bottled @ Gents Bierfestival 2015. Hazy lemon golden, little white head. Nose is lemon, hoppy, quite dry, grapefruit,… Taste is lemon, dough, grapefruit, some sweetness, sugar, yeast, dough, floral,… Lightly yeasty body. A bit too sweet but rather nice.

Small, just off-white head over hazy ochre-orange beer. Fine citrussy nose, with grapefruit and passion fruit. Bitter, citrussy, hopoils, rosewater without sweetness. Light to medium bodied, light slickness, oily. Quite decent IPA! Where are the times that Icelands’ only ’beer’ had to be bought at the airport...

Small brown head. Opaque black body. Smoky barnyard aroma with toffee and chocolate notes. Dry-sweet intensely smoked taste with earthy chocolate notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry-acidic earthy barnyard and charcoal aftertaste with smoky salty licorice notes. It’s very barnyardy, in a rough kind of way. Struggling to drink it, to be honest. (0.3l draft at Micro Bar, Reykjavik.)

Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish mealy chocolate and toasted rice aftertaste with roasty resiny notes. Nice, smooth, drinkable, harmonic and full of flavour. 12 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out diacetyl, grainy notes and pine. Flavour is more on the DMS side of things, with dry piney astringent hops and dry biscuity malt. The infection hurts it a bit, but it's not offensive. Decent.

On tap at Micro Bar, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out light funk, wheat and light citrus. Flavour brings out light funk, wheat and a little citrus. Tastes like a funky wheat beer. Doesn't seem usually for the beer, but it's really nice. Great stuff.

On tap at Micro Bar, pours clear blonde with a small white head. Nose brings out English yeast and herbally mushroom notes. Flavour is super English, with notes of mushrooms, English yeast, and biscuity malt. Very traditionally English, which is good in terms of correctness to style, but I'm not much a fan of it. Decent.

On tap at Hlemmur Square, pours a clear golden yellow with a small where head. Nose is light, with floral notes and biscuity malts. Flavour is along the same lines, with floral notes, biscuity malt and light wheat. Perfumey finish. Pretty average stuff.
