As Ozark Beer BDCS 2016, can shared by tderoeck at his place. Dark, deep bronze-hued brown, moussy, thick head, one of the deepest in colour I’ve seen to date, stable on the edge; black colour with hazy burgundy edges. Aroma of toffee, milk chocolate, toasted chestnuts, candied cherries, bourbon, coffee cream, oaky vanilla, dried banana, caramel, some glue-like solvents. Candied sweet onset of dried fig, raisin and baked banana, soft berry-like sourish undercurrent, softish carbo, thick and oily mouthfeel; deep caramelly and nutty malt bittersweet core, multi-layered with a pleasantly bittering toasted tail, creamy with a deep chocolatey character, woody tannins and bourbon-like alcohol and taste in the finish, caramel malt sweetness seeping through, spicy hop touch. Complex and well-balanced, a lovely stout. And an extra thanks to Tim - I did not notice it at the moment, but apparently this was a second state tick for me on the same evening...
