Description
This is how it all began: "I brought back a brewing kit from a trip to Canada in 1988. At first, everything was complicated: no raw material, no information ... The beer was undrinkable, but it was intriguing. With the advent of the Internet, I started talking to other amateurs to help me get started. " After a few brews and several months of gestation ... the first craft brewery in Correze was created in June 2008 ... on paper. Then after two or three developments, the brewery opens its doors at the beginning of summer 2009 at La Grange, in Curemonte.

Ten years later, the Brasserie Corrézienne, victim of its success, decided to expand and a new building is under construction, in order to be able to increase from 900 to 1500 hectoliters per year, for a potential close to double to medium term. "We have not been responding to demand for 2 years, a step has been taken!" An adventure to follow ... around a good beer of course!

Bottle from La Cave à Bulles, Paris; lot 1201, bb Nov 2014
Cloudy dark amber color with small sized head. As usual in these sweet strong Ales with winter spices, the aroma tends to be a bit soapy; anise as well. Good body strength; good malt flavor too, with moderate sweetness, and mild but unnecessary spices (star anise and cinnamon?); correct bitterness.
A good base beer, to which the spices don’t add much.

Flavour is hard roasted malts, ash, black currant, coffee, light moccha, berries, bitter hard roasted ashy finish. Medium to full-bodied. It’s good, but falls a bit short after the 8 Wired Batch 18.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of yeast, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of yeast, butter, and straw, leading to a dry buttery finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.
