The crown development is ok, but nothing more. Sweet breath, back out, it is dry, so overall quite distinctive, and the whole thing. Predicate: drinkable

Tap: Hazy, amber coloured, medium-sized fluffy head; fruity-yeasty nose with bitter and caramelly traces; relatively dry bitter-sweet flavour, quite light bodied, soft; shorter bitter-sweet finish, almost no traces of caramel or toasted malt. Not bad, but it seems to be the coloured version of the Hell......

Bottle. A clear, pale golden beer with a small white head. Pale malts and some fruityness in the aroma. Medium body, Boring flavor too, with grains and some fruits, a little bitterness towards the end. Medium body. It grows a bit after some sips, but it’s generally a boring beer after all. 100806

On draught (at the "Dujardin-Biergarten, Uerdingen): Grainy-malty nose with a delicate hoppy background; golden coloured, quite stable white head, a bit unclear; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour with a light acidity, light bodied, soft MF; some hoppy flavours show up in the fruity-grainy finish. Not bad, less acidity would make an even better beer.....

Bottle. As Original Königshofer Alt, 5% abv. It pours a clear, golden body under a finger-thick off-white head. Some dms on the nose, grainy with fruits and bready notes. Caramel and bread in the flavor, some fruity hops and a suiting bitterness. Quite fizzy mouthfeel, medium body fullness. Fine bitterness in the finish, but also a metallic touch. A decent altbier, but nothing worth travelling for. 091007
