Small beige head. Hazy brown body with carbonation. Spicy herbal licorice aroma with charcoal notes. Dry-sweet burnt spicy lacquer taste with honey and dust notes. Light body. Mild but fizzy mouthfeel. Dryish herbal burnt licorice aftertaste with papery mealy chocolate notes. Unusual, but quite nice and interesting. (0.33l bottle, Village de la Biere, Strasbourg.)

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a cloudy and opaque golden with a white head. Fruity nose. Medium body, sweet fruits and a little yeast. Discreet astringency in the finish, but otherwise inoffensive. 100410

From l’Epicerie, Le Bon Marché, Paris
Mahogany color; creamy head. The aroma shows initially some yeast, then cinnamon ginger and cloves, then nuts. Medium bodied, dark caramel flavor, with some spices; the final is quite bitter and dry. You gotta love the style...

Hazy red-amber color; a thin layer is persistent. The aroma is mild: light yeast, cinnamon and sourness; cookies. Average body strength, it has a semi-dry caramel flavor, very light spices, more yeast traces; the bitterness is a tad too much, in the end, with light liquorice too. Confused and imperfect.
