66 cl bottle courtesy yespr @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are crisp clean malt, caramel, notes of fruits and hops.

Clear reddish amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and light hoppy - fruity. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. 180212

600ml bottle at a Lubumbashi restaurant. Aroma is malts and little else. Has an okay head, and a good brown-copper body. Flavour has a good malty character, it’s refreshing and goes well with food. It’s a decent amber, much to my surprise.

Can from a random Lubumbashi supermarché. Has a weak corn and tin aroma. Appearance is good, with a thick head and yellow body. Flavour is a poor mix of tasteless corn adjuncts & fusel alcohol. Smooth mouthfeel however, thanks to all the adjuncts. Pretty blasée barely drinkable, but you do with what you can in the Congo.

Shared by JoeMcPhee, and big thanks go out to his wife Janet for enduring hell to bring it back. Surprisingly cool bottle. Piss yellow color, no head. Its an African version of American macro beer. Corn, light beer, no flaws for the style. Extra points for being able to pull it off in the pits of H E double hockey sticks.

Leicht malziger, ansonsten wässrig-getreidiger Geruch. Wässrig startet das Bier dann auch, die aufkommende Herbe ist fast zu mild, um erwähnt zu werden. Lascher verwässerter Malzmittelteil, herb malziger Abgang. Spritziger Anfang, dann aber gehts bergab. Test vom 29.6.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,8,7,8,10,8 - 8,05

Medium off-white head, fast gone, over chestnut coloured beer. Strong, sharp malty nose with a clear sweet component. As Nuffield remarked, there’s a clove aroma present - plus one of old dog poop too, fortunately not too present. Strange flavours: straw, grass, sourish-milky, dry and dark malts, dark sugar. Bit of a jumble, not really balanced, but it works somehow. It’s however, fading fast to a bland sweetness, still a bit lactic in character. Medium bodied, little stickyness. Definitely better than the Kinshasa beers, without any chance on greatness. Piquante little (political) detail: Brasseries Simba are aka Brasseries du Katanga - it says so on my bottle! Best province, anyway, hah!

Deep amberish orange with no head. Smells of floral hops, grapefruits, and sweet fruits. Flavors of sweet fruit, light hops, and flowers. Very tasty... might prefer it colder though.

Bottled. Copperish golden colour, huge foamy head. Sweet honeyish malty aroma with flowery hints. Honeyish malty flavour with malt and hops present. A bit too much carbonation.

Honey golden, good creamy off-white head, lace. Weak nose: malty, apples and alcohol. Carbonated, sweetish malty, a bit grassy hoppyness. Bready aftertaste. Not awful (as expected), but not a super either :)
