Bottled. A hazy chestnut brown beer with an off-white head. The aroma has strong notes of butter and a bit of caramel. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of butter as well as some notes of caramel, leading to a dry buttery finish. Not good. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours deep golden with a small, off-white head. Fat and greasy butter aroma - almost cloying. Medium body, sweet malt, a little hops and a distinct tartness. So off... 221109

bottle, bought in Steinach. Hazy-cloudy amber yellow, large and fluffy eggshell-coloured head. Fruity nose. Malty, yeasty with a nice fruity touch, vinous flavours and hints of spices. Very nice.

Swingtop bottle that gushed a bit. Hazy amber gold color with floaties. Aromas of light caramel and noble hop. Med. minus body and frothy carbonation. Doesn’t look like a pils, but it tastes like one, just a bit yeasty. More interesting than most pilsners. Seems balanced. I like it.

previously tested on German BTO 04/2007: Hieronymus stammt aus der kleinen Schlossbrauerei Schmieheim. Tolle Bügelflasche mit altmodisch gestalteten Etiketten. Trüb, viele Hefeschwebeteilchen und -fetzen. Hervorragender Schaum, feinporig und äußerst haltbar. Hopfiger Duft, sehr hopfiger Geschmack. Würzig und vollmundig, ziemlich hopfig und herb. Langer trockener Abgang und Nachgeschmack. Geniales Naturtrübes Pils!
