Pretty reasonable example of the style. Not too harsh, light-idh body and drinkable for the locality of it. Winstons sk
Boozy with a surprisingly light body. Lots of bourbon barrel flavour. Not much roast or hops. Winstons sk
Not that clean, a bit muddled. Nothing overtly off, but not great in style. Winstons sk (3.3 dec 2021) Has improved, good fruit flavour. Not sour, but drinkable beer. (Dec 2022 2022) This beer is the same as last year. Just fruit, not so sour, but clean.
Relatively clean and fully malty with a good amount of dark fruit character. Though the body is light but it works. Winstons sk (3.6dec 2021) 2022 version is boozy as can be imaginable. Like a vanilla barrel sweet alcohol body.
Has the proper plum-like barleywine flavours. But the body is a bit thin and lacking despite the abv. Winstons sk (3.4 jan 2021) Tried again. VERY boozy, a bit thin.
Decently well made, clean ish but not super robust and complex. A bit thin for the abv. Winstons

More soured than smoked (very mild). A bit thin and a kind of awkward mix of flavours. Mostly clean, but a bit of an amateur brewing feel to it. Sobeys sl

On tap at Winston's, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is on the hoppy side, with medium roasted malt, earthy hops, and wood. Flavour is roasty and woody, with a nice hoppy character, medium roasted malt, and wood. Woody and sturdy. Excellent stout.

On tap at Winston's, pours a clear pale copper with a small white head. Aroma is extremely sweet, with melon, candi sugar, and alcohol. Flavour is cloyingly sweet, with sour fruits, green melon, and cloyingly sweet bubblegum notes. Terrible utilization of the yeast. Nastily sweet, bizarrely tart. Wrong in every way.

Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7
On tap at Winston's, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is soft and malty, with bready malt and toasted notes. Flavour is more robust, with toasted malt, earthy notes, and actually some hop presence here. Well-constricted. Good brown.
