500ml bottle, 2009-edition, with a screw top bought at Bier Spezialitäten Laden in Karl Marx Allee, Berlin and carried back home to the north for Yuletide enjoyment. Deep, copper-golden body under a tiny, white head. Moderate malt-hoppy aroma. Taste of pale malts mixed with noble hops. Discreet notes of dried fruits like figs. Clean and dry in the mouth. Soft carbonated. Oily throughout. Alright, without being special in any way (shared with Eva on a peaceful Christmas Day, Tromsø 25.12.2009).

Bottled@One Pint Pub, Helsinki. Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, some slight herbs as well as alcoholic warming notes. Flavour is mildly toasted, caramel malty and slightly herbal. Also rather raisiny and plummyish as it warms up a bit.

Bottled. Hazy ambery brown colour with mediumsized fluffy/creamy off-white head that leaves some lace. Aroma is banana, wheat, mild yeast as well as some caramelly, sugary and slightly roasted notes. Flavour is rather sweet bananaish and wheaty along with some hints of toffee and sugar. Rather sweet Dunkelweizen, but still quite good in balance.

(Bottle, Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 27 Nov 2009) Amber colour with brief, off-white head. Malty nose with notes of toast, bitter orange marmalade and citrus peel. Malty, slightly fruity taste with toffee, toast, citrus and a clean and fresh finish with spicy hops. Medium body, balanced sweetness. Nice beer with a spicy fruitiness often found in kellerbiers.

Bottle 50cl. @ home.Clear medium yellow orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, straw, toasted, light to moderate hoppy, flowers, grass, citrus, old hops. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to light light light heavy bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091120]

(Bottle at OPP German weeks ’09) Poured pale golden and clear with medium sized and white head. Aroma was mainly grassy. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Tasted of grass, malts, grain, hops, bitterness and fruitiness. Bitter and malty aftertaste.

(Bottle at OPP German weeks ’09) Poured deep dark brown and clear with small white head. Aroma was dominated by stong maltiness. Palte was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The beer’s flavours were huge amount of malts, molasses, sweetness, bitterness and lightly chocolate. Aftertaste was roasty and lightly bitter. Alcohol was well hidden.

0,5l bottle at Cask Pub & Kitchen on 27th October 2009. Pours gold forming a thin white head that remains intact throughout. Hoppy and very clean tasting with a few (desirable) slight savoury notes. A zingy mouthfeel and a short-lived but intense hoppy bitter finish. Enjoyed this beer by special invitation of Peter at the Cask; this beer is a seasonal and only produced in very limied quantities with only twenty cases made available to UK buyers. Rare indeed!
