(screw cap bottle) Clear, golden colour with a foamy white medium-sized head. Sweet, bready and slightly cara-malty nose. Medium sweet flavour, malt-accented, bready and slightly honey-fruity taste with soft herbal notes; medium-dry, moderately sweet finish with a light balancing bitterness. Not a great, but drinkable kind of GDR-Bock.

(screw cap bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a medium-sized beige foamy head. Slighly sweet, roast-malty nose with caramel and a touch of coffee, plus a whiff of herbal hops. Moderately bitter, slightly burnt flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Roast-malt-accented taste, light notes of caramel and a mouldy fruity note; moderately dry, burnt bitter and slightly hoppy finish, rounded up with a touch of coffee. Not bad.

Bottle: Hazy, amber coloured, quite creamy and lacing off-white head; sweet-malty and distinctive fruity (berries with a touch of turpentine !) nose with a faint bitter-herbal background; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light- to medium-bodied, creamy MF; citrousy, fruity, a bit "english" finish with a decent bitterness in the aftertaste. Fine stuff..........

Bottle: Dark amber coloured, quickly collapsing and lacing off-white head, some floaties visible; fruity and dark-roasted-malty nose; moderate bitter-sweetish flavour, soft MF, light- to medium-bodied; first sweetish, later drier, a bit roast-malty, but thinnish finish. O.K., not overwhelming.........

Bottle: Deep golden coloured, mid-sized lacing white head; honeyish, sweet-malty nose with heavy herbal hops; very solid bitter-sweet flavour, astonishingly only medium-bodied, almost Pilsner-like with a soft, gentle MF; finish is soft,as well, with sweet malt and lingering hops. Wow, wow, a perfect cuvee of a very good Bock and a very good Pils.......

(screw cap bottle) Hazy, dark amber colour with a huge, off-white foamy head. Sweet wheat-malty and fruity aroma (bubblegum & banana), slightly ashy with restrained toasty notes. Sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Very light toasty, wheat-malty taste with a well-balanced fruity note and light phenols; sweet, fruity and slightly sourish finish. Tastes more like a (good) Ur-Weizen than a Dunkelweizen.

(screw cap bottle) Slightly hazy, greenish golden colour with a beautiful blond foamy white head of medium size. Light-sweet, distinctively honey-like aroma with an aromatic herbal hoppy blend. Rounded sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full body with a very smooth and pleasant carbonation. Aromatic pale malt character, honey-ish, subtle fruity taste with a well-integrated herbal hoppy note; lingering and well-rounded malty and herbal hoppy finish. Very pleasant, deceptive Imperial Pilsener.
