This version is listed as a double IPA with 8% abv. Hazy yellow-gold pour. The aroma is very resinous. Piney hops. The flavor has ample hops bitterness with pine and tropical fruit. Big malty backbone. The wife says it smells like cat pee, but she says that about numerous IPAs that I enjoy, and I can assure you that I am not a fan of cat urine. This is really good. It could have a bit higher bitterness but it’s still very good.

Pours slightly hazy pale gold. Smells funky, oaky, and of grapes. The flavor is similar with a mild funk, tart grapes, and oak. Quite good

Pours black with minimal head. Smells of coffee and chocolate. The flavor is a rich in coffee and dark chocolate and dark roast malt. It’s not all that sweet, which is good. It’s medium bodied at most with well balanced flavor. Doesn’t drink like a heavy stout

Pours clear dark amber brown, almost black. Smells of roast malt and coffee. The flavor is of dark chocolate, roast malt, and coffee. It’s a bit lighter than I’d prefer, but it’s pretty good.

Pours cloudy deep pink. Small head. Smells of plums and oak. The flavor is pleasantly tart with lots of plums along with oak and a certain spiciness and some funk. Full bodied. Very good and very different.

A style of flavored stout” doesn’t capture this beer well, but it was that, flavored sour, or the very generic “flavored - other”. 2019 release - pours very dark brown with minimal head. It smells of red wine and roast malt. The flavor is pretty wine forward with grapes, a mild tartness, and roast malt. It blends together well. I don’t know what it was like when first released, but with three years on it, it’s a smooth and tasty brew. Very unusual.

Pours very hazy pale yellow. It smells of citrus and other tropical fruit and a little hop resin. The flavor is fruity and juicy with citrus joined by moderate hop bitterness and some resin. Quite good.

Not sure sour ale is right, but RB doesn’t have a vinobeer category and these unusual barrel aged brews have that tartness. Anyway, it pours lightly hazy pale yellow with no head. It smells of honey, florals, oak, and grapes. The flavor is sweet with grapes, oak, a little tartness. Overall it’s just a smooth, balanced, very tasty experience.
