Taster at Brix. The menu doesn’t say ’Barrel Aged’, but I see no evidence of a non-BA version, so here it is. Pours a hazy, dark, brown color, with a big, bubbly, beige head. Nice orange peel aroma, with some pine, butterscotch, and syrup. Very sweet, with a sharp, easy bitterness. Thick and syrupy palate. This is a smooth and boozy wheat wine, with a nice, aromatic hoppiness.

Sample at the brewery. Pours a murky brown, with a big, frothy head. The nose is very malt forward, with notes of milk chocolate, molasses, chicory, and rye. Sweet, with just a hint of bitterness that gives some pretty good balance. Light to medium body, grainy, and a little sticky. This is a pretty nice Irish red, but nothing too special.
