Bottled (from beerangel.de). Deep golden colour with mediumsized slightly off-white head, nice lace. Aroma is caramel malts, some slight wooden hoppy notes as well as mild tones of grass. Flavour is grassy, fruity, wooden and also has some slight birch sap -like notes. The Birch sap changes into mild sweet spicyness as it warms up a bit. The warmer it gets the more diacetyl shows up.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden brown with an orange hue and a dense tan head. Roasted malt and breadish aroma, light spice note in addition. Flavour starts sweet and soon gains a solid spice note providing a solid flavour and mouthfeel to the 7.3% abv. Malt heavy and light dried to overripe fruity finish. Very nice.

(bottle) clear, yellow colour with a fluffy foamy white head. Quite malty, slightly grainy nose for a Radler with the obligatory citrus note, but more in the background. Artificially sweet flavour, light body, rather flat carbonation. The taste is the opposite of the flavour: strong citrus-fruity with a shy malty background; finishes sweetish and artificial. Not even refreshing Radler.

Caramel-red beer; head gone in seconds. Caramel, bread, alcohol and generally quite sweet nose. Sweet taste, but moderately so; woody and wry in a good way, finishing with truckload of malt and chocolate cookies. Heavy malt-determined grist slickness and appreciable alcohol, near oily. Good Doppelbock! Thanks to Sebastian for this exceptional tasting.

Very heavily carbonated to yellow-amber head; slightly hazy pale amber beer. Good banana, cloves and wheat nose, but in a rarely attained equilibrium, ending with pineapple ester. Sweet-ish taste, with a bit of wood. Again pineapple and plywood. But for some dryness, not really bitterish. Wry, dry MF, fizzy. Disappointing taste - just this dryness and little else - seen the very inviting nose.

Dark-golden beer, with good white head. Bready, malty and alcohol, more maltcharacteristic to this brewery than to Bocks in general. Sweet, alcohol, and again very characteristic maltflavour. The alcohol is partly, but uncompletely hidden: the sweetness is telltale. In the finish, I even get grainspirit. Alcoholic warming, strong but not really heavy bodied. Decent Bock, maybe a bit commercial. Thanks to Seb.

Collapsing, thick white head, fed by good carbonation; yellow-gold, clear beer. Very malty nose, pale malts, and a bit gassy. Further aroma of fresh young grass. Sweet, malty, and very toasted flavours, breakfast cereals - though NO corn. Much grist slickness, more than light bodied this way. A very typical, good & decent German luxus Pilsener, but not really great in any way. Thanks to Sebastian.

Reddish tinted amber; small off-white head, fast gone. Caramel nose, like a grilled meat or a BBQ’ed item - my supplier Sebastian -derDoppelbock- says roasted onions. Breadcrust as well. Sweet-caramelly taste, not very distinctive. Still bread-notes, but much less than in the nose. Too sweet and buttery, really. Light body, but a grist-like slickness. OK Dunkel, but not enough character. Then again, just try to find this without Sebastian...

Hazy orange-yellow beer; quite huge and very fine snowwhite head. Banana ester, slight acidic, very wheaty nose. A bit salty as well, as oyster shells. Very mild-sweet taste, wheat is nearly inconspicious, but cloves finally appear. Banana very obvious as flavour as well. A bit fizzy. Light to medium body. In the aftertaste, I get sweet malt, peanuts-like. Not really interesting Weizen - but very rare, thanks to Der Doppelbock.

Bottle. Dusty, grainy aroma. Clear golden colour, stable white head. The flavour is mild with medium maltiness, low bitterness and low amount of aroma hops.
