From weihenweizen: pours light brown with quickly dissipating head. Not much of a looker really. Aroma is mild pecan and caramelized sugar. Taste is sweet m, low hoppiness, not as nutty as I would have liked. I also like pecans a lot. Meh.

In a trade from Weihenweizen, thanks!: pours golden with a white head. Aroma is light orange, bready malts. Taste is light citrusy touch, low sweetness, low bitterness. Effectively, this is a simple blonde ale, but it is refreshing and pleasant.

I’ve lost track of how long I have had 10 put away, a year maybe 2. And I bought it where, who knows. But beer is meant to be consumed and this pleasant, early summer Saturday evening is the time. I use a chalice, why the hell not? And it is a great cap on the 750 ml bottle too I should add. I see a medium brown liquid and a practically nonexistent beige head. The scent, cut hay, sorghum, cane sugar and malt. Whew, where do we go from here. Oh yeah, the taste. Decent, malt, toffee, very ripe black plum, grain. Rather quadruplish, just not at a top level.

From Weihenweizen in a trade, thanks: pours a deep gold with a very frothy white head. Aroma is floral, light pine, plenty of citrus. Taste is biscuit, moderately bitter, citrusy. Lingering aftertaste. Pretty old school, but everything is done right.
