1l-bottle bought at a getränkemarkt in Nordhausen. Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts mild, not very dry, fine spicy notes. Modest sweet. Finih still mild, a bit spicy-wheaty, quite drinkable. A good one!

1l bottle, bought at a getränkemarkt in Nordhausen. Bottle looks really good, nice silver and black label. Beer in the glass very dark, almost black, nice head. Starts strong, malty, not too roasty. Modest dry. Finish less malty, some fruity hints of plum. Should be more intense malty.

1-l bottle, bought in a getränkemarkt in Nordhausen. Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark brown, nice creamy head. Starts mild, modest malty, more and more mild-sourish and moldy. Some caramel hints. Finish still mild, too mild. Okay, but nothing special.

(swing top bottle, 100cl) Almost black coloured hue with a short beige foamy layer. Sweet and mildly roasty malty aroma with notes of chocolate and Latte macchiato. Moderately sweet and slightly roasty bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a rather flat carbonation. Roasty malty taste with notes of milk coffee and dark chocolate; moderately dry and roasty bitter finish with notes of coffee in the lasting aftertaste. 24.VIII.11

(swing top bottle, 100cl) Hazy, literally copper coloured hue with a short and slightly beige foamy layer. Roasty malty and distinctively nutty aroma, which seems to be part of the hose character of the Wippraer beers, accompanied by notes of caramel and a herbal hoppy background. Sweet and roasty bitter flavour, almost medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Roasty and nutty malt character with loads of caramel/Blockmalz and delicately herbal accents; sweet bitter, even a bit burnt malty and lasting finish. Schmackofatz. 24.VIII.11

(swing top bottle, 100cl, 5.0% abv) Hazy and quite dark for a Pilsener: amber colour with a tanned and short foamy head. Sweet, slightly nutty (cara-)malty aroma with herbal and slightly citric hops. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Nutty cara-malty taste with herbal, slightly woody and subtle fruity hops; moderately bitter and dry finish with a balanced hops and malt-character. Uncommon but likeable. 24.VIII.11

Bügelverschlußflasche (100cl): Deep ruby-amber to black coloured, stable creamy off-white foam: not very dry bitter-sweet flavour, pretty light bodied; lingering dryish toasty finish with a delicate fruitiness; dryish roasty-fruity nose with some caramel underneath. Good.....

Bügelverschlußflasche (10dl): Reddish-amber coloured, clear, slowly collapsing mid-sized off-white head; moderate to solid nutty-toasty nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, soft and almost medium bodied; drier roasty-bitter finish with a chocolatey touch. So far the best brew from Wippra......
