Description

Clear red brown with an off-white head. Malty caramel aroma with some hops and maybe a hint of cinnamon. Sweet taste with a bitter finish. A little alcohol heat is present but it is more warming than harsh. Body is quite thin for such a big beer. Decent.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Very dark amber with a off-white head. Malty caramel aroma with faint floral hops. Taste is medium-sweet with a light bitter leathery finish. Lively carbonation and a firm body for its ABV. Very nice beer in a style you don't find that often in the Netherlands.

Bottle shared with Caesar @ Mancave tasting. Clear golden blonde color, average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, grainy, old musty stale dust herbal / herbal tea and iron. Dear Lord this is bad. Drainpour.

33 cl. bottle @ Gall&Gall Geldermalsen. Hazy amber with no head whatsoever. According to the facebook page of the brewer this is because of a bottle condition error; the bottles have been stored too cold after bottling. And because I kept my bottle in the fridge as well it stands to reason that the yeast hasn't converted all bottling sugar yet. Aroma is malty and slightly hoppy. Taste is rather sweet, probably due to aforementioned issue. Finish is a bit short. Keeping in mind the issues this beer has it's still a nice simple hoppy Belgian ale. Will try again.
