Black color; huge thick brown head. Smells like an end of a drinking night in Copenhagen; there is some roasted malt and vanilla. Medium body structure, pretty good caramel and malt taste, with some roasted malt and liquorice, but on the sweet side; good chewy malt, with some fruitness; correct bitterness. Not too much emotional, but honest Imperial Stout.

Bottle. Black color with a small brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and licorice. Very soft and tasty flavour with notes of mild coffee, chocolate and roastedness. Ends with a licorice finish.

A pitch black beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with a light roasted note. The flavor is very sweet - a bit too sweet for me, with an OK roasted character.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours completely black and opaque with a good, retentive, light brown and lacing head. Aroma is full of hard roasted malt and coffee. The body is full with lots of sweetish, roasted malt, chocolate and dried fruit. The lightly burned malts also leave some bitterness. A very accessible and pleasant Impy. Extremely balanced, but never extreme.... 260407 Earlier rating:
(On tap) Completely black and opaque with a creamy, light brown head. Nose of roasted malt. Good, solid body with lots of sweetish, hard roasted malt. Unfortunately a vaguely fusty edge. Light bitter finish. I believe this could be a great beer in a cleaner version. 6/4/5/3/11=2.9 200506
