Bottle from HavnensVin&Tobak. Pours dark honey amber with large white head. Aroma is malt, grain, yeast, anise and coriander seeds. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter and faint acidic. Body is creamy with light carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes of matl, grain, yeast and anise. Round and pleasant, but can I have it without the anise, please?

Backlog October 2009. Reddish brown body under a dense off-white head. Aroma has strong caramel scent with malt and resin. Taste is sweet and malty with caramel, marmalade and quite bitter. Medium body with a sweet and bitter aftertaste. A bit unbalanced in-between and IIPA and a Barley wine I think.

Bottle from HavnensVin&Tobak. Pours clear but very dark reddish brown with huge light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, fudge, grain, flour and hints of liqorice and lemon. Taste is medium sweet, light to medium bitter, light acidic and faint salty. Body is oily with fizzy carbonation. Finish is medium long and mostly sweet with notes of caramel, fudge, prunes, cream, grain, pepper, liquorice, nutmeg and hints of iron. Hard to tell if this tries to be a spicy brown ale, roasted schwarzbier or very mild but spicy stout - but a pleasant acquaintance anyhow.
