Bottled. A clear, golden beer with a bit, dense, beige head. The nose is pleasant, but somewhat boring, malty and fruity with some floral notes. It has a quite sweet flavor, with malt and a floral bitterness. This beer brings me to the spring, but not as early as Easter. (070216)

Slightly cloudy orange with a lasting cream head. Lemon, orange, roses, grass and exotic fruits in the nose. Bitter with a huge body, lots of malty sweetness to balance. Too much alcohol presence.

Thanks Papsoe! A pitch black color with decent tan head. Strong aroma of licorice and berries in the nose. Burned malty flavor with notes of licorice. Medium-bodied - full enough. Aroma was promising, flavor is a bit one-dimensional.

Bottled. A nut-brown beer with a huge light brown head. The aroma is sweet very nutty, but also with notes of wet earth, dried leaves, and fungus, reminds me of a walk in a humid fall forrest. The flavor is much fresher than the aroma with strong notes of nuts, but also with a fruitiness, including some citrus (the hops?), on a quite sweet back ground, leading to a dry nutty end.

(Bottle 50 cl) Black and opaque with a creamy, beige head. Sweetish aroma of roasted malt and alcohol. Immensely solid body with a distinct sweetness and loads and loads of roasted malt. Has a somewhat medicinal, herbal and cough syrup-like feel - as so often in these heavy duty beers. Distinctly bitter fom the malts. A very warming and pleasant alcohol. 150207

500 ml bottle. Clear reddish body with a beige head. Strong ginger spicy aroma. Flavor is sweet, spicy and quite harmonic from a ginger loving view. Not exactly a Belgium abbey beer, more in the neighborhood of Scottish Heather Ale. I like it a lot anyway as standalone ale.
