Bottle@HBF2015. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, alcohol, some floral notes as well as some toasted notes. Flavour is liquorice, alcohol, caramel malts, mild turf, peat and smoked notes. I actually came to think about Brewdog Paradox 01 when having this.

Pours dark brown, almost black with a tiny head. Aroma of roasty malts, licorice, ash, wood, oak and hints of whisky. Taste is smooth, woody and roasty with some salty licorice, oak, vanilla and syrup. Finish is sweetish, smooth and woody with notes of oak, licorice, wood and vanilla. Pretty smooth and balanced.

Sample from 0.75l bottle at HBF 2015, Helsinki. Colour is black with almost no head. Aromas and flavours: Coffee, some chocolate, hints of chili?, spices, some wood and roasted malts. Not massive but very drinkable.Second glass points 3.7 - 3-9.

(1 dl sample from a 0.75 l bottle at HBF2015) The beer poured black. No head fromation. Aroma had wood, vanilla, dark chocolate and whisky. Palate was full bodied and dry with low carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, wood, vanilla, whisky and bitterness. Aftertaste was woody, mildly boozy and bitter. A good brew until the finish which turned too boozy.

From 750ml bottle @ HBF15. Poured black, thin brown head. Dough, licorice, sweetness. Very smooth stuff. Flavor has roastedness, coffee, wood, sweetness. Some alcohol warmth, wood in finish. Pleasant stuff. Some medicinal notes.

Bottle 33 cl. Black with a lightbrown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and liquorice. Light sweet, light bitter with a strong chocolate end, light alc sense.

Bottled (thanks Kim!). Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is catpiss, caramel, some tropical fruits as well as some mild herbal notes. Flavour is brutal cascade as for bitter hops (earthy/mouldy), some some fruity, floral and wooden notes as well. Brutally hopped.

Tap at Black Door. Copper, amber color, small white head. Aroma is berryish with light piney hops. Medium-bodied. Fruity hoppyness, some citrus and berryish vibe. Some old Ruosniemi house flavors maybe! Somewhat close to brewery’s other APAs so I wonder what beta is for.

(Draught at Bryggeri Helsinki, Helsinki, 30 March 2015) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of citrus, apricots, crystal malt and a touch of grapefruit. Malty, hoppy taste with grapefruit, orange peel, crystal malt and a generous citric bitterness in a dry finish. Medium body, quite dry. Slightly sharp malt character, but a fresh hop profile. Nice one.

Pours dark orange with a smooth head. Aroma of grassy hops, herbal notes, hay and caramely malts. Taste is a bit harsh, slightly herbal and grassy with some maltiness and grainy notes. Finish is sweetish, malty and herbal with some grassy notes. A bit unbalanced.
